EXPERIENCE
Turned parts that meet the highest quality standards are our passion. We solve our clients' challenges with our extensive know-how and decades of experience. Our parts are used in the major sectors of the future of our economy and especially where they matter. It's not just precision that counts there, but also reliability and honesty. As a family company, we have always maintained these values since 1955 and supply our customers quickly, precisely, flexibly and within budget. As a traditional company, however, we are looking forward more and more intensively than backwards and will continue to write our story as an innovative leader in the industry in the future.

OUR VALUES

Where does the electricity we use come from? — This question is obvious when we think about our ecological footprint. Consumers in Germany can still choose from a wide range of products: coal, nuclear, wind, water, solar — electricity from all of these energy sources is currently still on the market. If we want to promote the CO2 balance, personal initiative is therefore required. At Böhmler, we have been using electricity from sustainable sources for several years, and the conversion to green electricity will be completed in 2022.
At Böhmler, we are convinced of the highly efficient combined heat and power plant model and it is a very central component of our strategy. The special feature of such a system is that the generation of heat and cold — heat to heat buildings and cold to cool production — produces electricity as a by-product. There is no such effect in large plants. On the one hand, the operator of cogeneration plants benefits from this side effect, but also assumes social responsibility, as the electricity generated here is fed into the supply network in critical phases and can help prevent blackouts there in an emergency.
Dealing with waste should be a very central component on the way to a sustainable environmental protection strategy. This is not only about the disposal and treatment of waste, but also about minimizing it. Not only the raw materials used in production should play a role here. At Böhmler Drehteile, we rely on five different pillars:
- Re-sorting of waste for the best possible basis for successful recycling
- Separation of chips and cleaning of chips
- Preparation of the oil used
- Preferred use of reusable wooden or plastic transport containers
- Preferential use of recycled boxes when reusable containers are not an option
With well-designed guidelines for business trips and modern home office regulations, more kilometers driven by car could be saved than would suggest. As far as possible, we generally use public transport for business trips to trade fairs and for customer visits. In addition, personal meetings at Böhmler are now used very deliberately. Personal contact with our customers and partners is very important to us, but we are also increasingly using digital communication media for regular project coordination. Together with our home office regulations, we can thus save a large part of the number of kilometers driven by car during operations.
Who hasn't heard of washing their own vest through an experienced certificate trade with regions in the primeval forests of South America without really targeting their own ecological footprint? But there are also regional projects run by non-profit organizations
the conservation of the landscape, which is important for our environmental protection. Although the support of such projects is not officially recognized as compensation for their own CO2 emissions, it is still an excellent fit for sustainable industrial companies.
As part of an innovative car policy, targeted content on the environmentally friendly use of vehicles could also be communicated. Minimizing trips, tips on how to drive in a resource-saving way, or even what CO2 emissions requirements new vehicles must meet — all of these could be focal points. “The good thing about this is that it also has positive effects on behavior in private life,” says Böhmler managing director Angelika Domig.
The importance of insects for our environment is immense! Giving them a good home can be a good part of an ecological orientation. “At Böhmler, we will set up insect hotels and create spacious flower meadows in spring 2022,” explains Thomas Schweichart. This not only supports insects, but also reduces mowing time.
SOCIAL COMMITMENT
Business success is always based to a significant extent on the society in which we live. Against this background, it has been a matter of course for us to give something back to our society for many decades. As a result, we are happy to support numerous social projects and organizations.
The
Management
Since our founding in 1955, we have been a family-owned company, now in the third generation. Herbert Domig took over the company from his father-in-law in 1975. With Sabine Domig, Mr. Domig's daughter has been part of the management team since 2008. Alexander Hausser has been supporting the Domig family in this regard for several years. The tasks and areas of responsibility spread over three shoulders and with many years of experience, we can look to the future with confidence. Despite all crises and challenges, we will remain a medium-sized company in Pforzheim for many years to come.

HISTORY
Böhmler Drehteile is officially “KlimaFit”
As one of the pioneering municipalities in Baden-Württemberg, the city of Pforzheim tackled the state government's KlimaFit project at the end of last year. The aim of the project is to provide participating companies with insights into their individual greenhouse gas balance. Based on these results, they can develop economically viable measures to increase their energy efficiency. With a ceremonial presentation of certificates, this groundbreaking project has now been completed and we have received an award!

Böhmler continues to grow
In 2005, it was necessary to expand the production area again to the current level of 6300 square meters. By expanding the machine park with the latest CNC-controlled production machines and specializing in complex geometries and materials that are difficult to machine, the 60 employees were able to successfully serve customers and attract new ones even in the difficult economic phase.

Böhmler continues to grow
In 1984, due to the space available and the renovation of the former location in Pforzheim, a building with 600 square meters of production and office space was built on Stuttgarter Straße. The company employed 6 people at that time. Capacities were expanded through the purchase of additional standard automatic lathes.

Böhmler stays one
family business
In 1975, the son-in-law, Herbert Domig, took over the business because Karl Böhmler had to cut back for health reasons. Based on Karl Böhmler's concept, r continued to develop and standardize the rotary tables, which are still in use today.

Founding of Böhmler
In 1955, Karl Böhmler founded the company at Brunnenstraße 15 in the Brötzingen district of Pforzheim in the backyard of the family's residential building. As a master toolmaker in the watch industry, he had the basic idea of producing contact parts on mechanical rotary tables. Even then, he was supplying the electrical industry with contact parts.
